Joseph Pilates brought his revolutionary method of physical and mental conditioning from Germany to New York in the early 1920s. The Pilates method of training is designed to support the whole body in an efficient and balanced way. It encompasses more than 500 controlled, precise movements performed on special equipment (The Reformer, Cadillac, Wunda Chair, etc.) that are designed to stretch and strengthen muscles without adding bulk. Pilates will improve strength, stability, and posture, allowing for graceful and easeful movement.
