Mira Cook

Mira is a dancer and movement lover who has performed professionally for the last 20 years. Pilates was a revelation for her – she was finally able to feel all the muscles she needed to access when dancing. Through Pilates, she was able to move with better support and ease, improving her dance technique and preventing injuries. For her, Pilates is an essential way to keep the body in good alignment – she loves sharing this helpful system with all and seeing improvements in posture, flexibility, and strength in her clients.

Mira studied with Balanced Body Pilates, taking teacher trainer seminars with Jessica Moss, Tom McCook, and Ann Toran and receiving supplemental workshops by Lesley Powell. As a Pilates instructor, Mira is particularly engaged in teaching breathing, enhancing awareness of the body, and cultivating relaxation while building strength and flexibility. She enjoys imparting tools to maintain, energize, and reinforce our bodies – the vehicle that takes us through life.
