Odessa Jacobson

is a compassionate, thoughtful, and creative Pilates instructor, dancer, and all around artist. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, where she has danced all of her life. After graduating from Bennington College with a BA in Dance, she craved a new way to support her movement with stability and strength. As she sought to heal from injuries and live with hypermobility, she found her way to Pilates as a rehabilitating exercise practice.

A couple of years later, Odessa completed the Kane School of Core Integrationā€™s Comprehensive Pilates Training Program, including Mat, Reformer, Barrel, Cadillac, and Chair. With these teachings, she hopes to use Pilates to help her clients experience their bodies in new and empowering ways. As a teacher, Odessa values meeting clients where they are and listening to what they need. Leading with empathy, she encourages and challenges her clients toward growth. In her sessions, Odessa likes to balance rehabilitating and anatomically grounded movement with flowing and satisfying exercise.

Outside of Pilates you can find Odessa dancing and playing with ceramics and herbal medicine all over Brooklyn.
