Back in 1999, Pilates saved my life. I was running about 20 miles a week, but my back was going out regularly. The wind would blow, and I’d be laid up for a few days. The last time it happened, I spent 5 days in bed, unable to roll over.

 

Would I end up needing surgery? I didn’t want to know. Finally, I took my sister’s advice and looked into this thing called Pilates. It changed my life.

 

These days, thanks to Pilates and increased core strength, my back doesn’t go out. My joints are stable and my alignment is solid. But I struggle to get a proper cardio workout. I created this workout routine during the early days of Covid when I had to temporarily close Streamline due to the city lockdown.

I walked to Cadman Plaza Park, right around the corner from my apartment, and started this jog/jump rope/lunge workout. It helped me keep healthy and strong for my family, my business, my clients, and myself. And importantly, it helped me connect my Pilates training to the cardiovascular exercise I was lacking.

 

The deal I made with myself is that it had to be quick and not too demanding, to ensure I kept doing it.

 

I'm excited to share my favorite workout routine with you because much of what I do outdoors correlates with Pilates exercises.

 

Once again, the benefits of Pilates are abundantly clear!?
